1. Public Hearing to Sunshine Pacific Grove Adult School Topics for Negotiations for 1997-98

G. INFORMATION/DISCUSSION:

1. Improving Communication Between the District and the Community.
A call for ideas and suggestions from the public for the development of new District policies and procedures.
Topics for discussion will include how to improve meetings, notices, agendas and community participation.

H. OPEN PUBLIC COMMENT ON ANY SUBJECT WITHIN THE DISTRICT'S JURISDICTION

I. INFORMATION/DISCUSSION:
FOCUS ON INSTRUCTION

1. Curriculum Coordination (Novelli)
Barbara Novelli will report on reading and language arts adoption;
implementation of math program K-5; and plans for staff
development as it relates to instructional strategies.

2. Optional 3-Period CORE for 6th Grade (Boyle)
A 3-Period CORE offering for 6th grade students will
be discussed.

3. Daily Leadership Class at Pacific Grove Middle School (Boyle)
A proposed Leadership Class at PGMS will be discussed.

4. Report from Lower Class Size Task Group
Information from the Lower Class Size Task Group will be presented.

J. ACTION

1. 1996-97 General Fund Budget Revision #7 (Blakley)
Recommend approval of revisions as presented.

K. DISCUSSION

1. 1997-98 Tentative Budget (Blakley)
The Board will review preliminary information for the 1997-98
General Fund Budget.

L. ACTION

1. Request from PGTA for Time on Agenda (Nine)
The Board will consider a request from the Pacific Grove
Teachers Association for an agenda listing.

1. Food Service Department Report (Blakley)
Annual report will be provided by Food Service Manager,
Mike Sheffer, in response to Board's request.

2. Technology Equipment Purchase Update (Peiffer)
Status on technology equipment purchases will be shared
with the Board.
