  1. POTENTIAL, TEMPORARY, PART-TIME SPECIAL ED TEACHER
    (0.6 FTE, Job-Share-Special Day Class)
    ROBERT DOWN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    POSITION CRITERIA:
    [top]The most qualified candidates will meet the following criteria:

    • Have experience teaching elementary students in the Special Day Class setting.
    • Have experience in inclusion models and strong collaboration skills with general education teachers.
    • Have experience with a wide range of disabilities; particularly Autism Spectrum Disorders
    • CLAD Certified or Equivalency
    • Demonstrable ability to test, diagnose, plan, and implement a student’s Individualized Educational Plan
    • Demonstrable skills in classroom management
    • Experience working with Open Court Reading, Reading Mastery, Corrective Math, and Harcourt Brace Math

    EFFECTIVE: 2008-2009 School Year Only

    EXPERIENCE: Including the above listed position criteria; prior teaching experience in the advertised academic discipline and grade level is desired.

    CREDENTIAL: Must possess a valid California credential authorizing the credential holder to provide service to children in the area of Special Education/Special Day Class. In addition, the successful candidate must have demonstrated teaching experience in that field. Must meet NCLB requirements, authorization to teach English language learners desired.

    • Teaching experience in the primary grades and/or defined grade level.
    • Familiarization with the CA State Standards
    • Demonstrable teaching experience and training with Open Court Language Arts Program.
    • Demonstrable teaching experience and training with Harcourt Math.
    • Demonstrable teaching experience and training with Scott Purdy Writing Strategies.
    • CLAD or equivalent authorization to teach ELL.
    • Must meet NCLB requirements.
    • Desire and ability to work with Grade Level team members.
    • Demonstrable teaching experience with differentiated instruction
    • Knowledge and experience working with special needs, inclusion students

    EFFECTIVE: 2008-2009 School Year Only

    POSITION CRITERIA: The most qualified candidates will meet the following criteria: • Demonstrated experience teaching Algebra, experience teaching geometry and above preferable
    • Major or minor in Math or subject matter authorization
    • Demonstrated experience and training in differentiated instruction
• CLAD or equivalent authorization to teach ELL
    • Must meet NCLB requirements.
    • Ability and interest in leading extra-curricular activities; examples may include yearbook, activities director, lunchtime club, drama, etc.

    EFFECTIVE: 2008-2009 School Year

    EXPERIENCE: Prior teaching experience in the advertised academic discipline and grade level is desired.

    CREDENTIAL: Must possess a valid California credential authorizing the credential holder to provide service to children in the area of Math in grades 6-8. Must meet NCLB requirements, and possess authorization to teach English language learners. Along with a valid California Math Credential, Supplemental Authorizations in other subject matter is desirable.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS: Full-time, 1.0 FTE, Placement according to the PGTA Certificated Salary Schedule
