All students must pass the California High School Exit Exams to receive a diploma. They are also required to have 24 hours of documented Community Service. Starting with the class of 2012 students are required to have 48 hours.

GRADING POLICY: At Community High School, credits are broken into points, one credit equaling 10 points. This system allows the staff to offer a wide variety of small units to meet an individual's required number of credits. It also allows for special incentives, and lowers the frustration level for many students. In order to meet the weekly requirement each student must earn at least 15 points per week. Students who are behind in credits will have a higher minimum number of points to earn each week. Every week extra points can be earned after school hours. Any student may earn as many credits as he or she is capable of earning. The harder a student works, the more credits he or she may earn.

Academic credit is given only when mastery is achieved and demonstrated by testing or project completion. If a student does not master the material, it is taught again and retested. In this way, material is learned and students are prepared for ever increasing levels of difficulty in the curriculum.
