Minutes of the Meeting of November 13, 2003
The Board of Education, of the Pacific Grove Unified School District held a meeting on November 13, 2003 at the Pacific Grove High School.
I. OPENING BUSINESS
A. Call to Order: 7:02 p.m.
B. Roll Call: Members Present: Beth Shammas
Jessie Bray
Anne Hall
Richard Schramm
Administrator: Patrick Perry, Superintendent
Pledge of Allegiance: Recited
D. Adoption of Agenda: MOTION (Schramm/Hall): to adopt the agenda – Motion CARRIED 4 to 0
II. COMMUNICATIONS
A. Public Comment : None
III. ACTION/DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Board Member Provisional Appointment per Education Code 5091
The Board of Education followed the items noted in the information section of the Board agenda.
Board President Beth Shammas received three letters related to provisional appointment candidate Bill
Phillips. ALL correspondence were read into the record (copies are attached). Four applicants, Mark
Cameron, Bill Phillips, Stephanie Bacheller, and Stephen Bean, were interviewed by the Board of
Education. Deliberation occurred.
MOTION (Schramm/Bray): To appoint Mark Cameron as a provisional appointed board member.
This motion was amended to include the term of office through November, 2005. Motion CARRIED
4 to 0.
