Welcome to the Pacific Grove Middle School Math Department Web Site. We hope that you find the contents useful in understanding how our department is structured and what some of the expectations are.

Pathways. As you can see, there are several courses offered to provide both challenges and support to our students. Over the years, we have found that the best pathways for all of our students is to begin middle school in Math-6. Our typical pathway is that at the end of 6th grade, students then move onto Math-7. Then those who earn a "C" or better in Math-7, move onto Algebra I in the 8th grade. We offer challenges to those who are extremely advanced and support to those who need it.

Support Classes. We now offer 3 support students for students, Math-6 Support, Math-7 Support, and Algebra Support.

Math Staff. Besides having a Resource math teacher and math aide, all of our teachers are "Highly Qualified." Each one is a math specialist. For credentialling information, see https://teachercred.ctc.ca.gov.
