Free School Meals for any children aged 18 & under (through SY 2021-22)

On August 31, USDA & CDE announced the waiver extensions of operating under Seamless Summer Option and Open Area Eligibility, allowing us to serve free school meals to any child aged 18 and younger. On October 9, the waivers were extended, remaining in effect through June 30, 2021. On April 20, a new waiver allowing districts to operate Seamless Summer Option through SY 2021-22 was confirmed.

During the District's hybrid model, Curbside Meal Distribution will continue operating from 11:30a - 1:00p on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On Wednesday, meals for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (3 days' worth) will be served. Children, parents or guardians may pick up meals for child(ren) / siblings. Please wear face masks / coverings when picking up meals, as one would when picking up food from a food establishment. If your child attends Extended Day or hybrid, they will be provided meals at school (please see below) and a duplicate meal will not be provided at curbside pickup.

*Wednesdays* Food Bank's Free Food Box Distribution at Curbside Meal Locations

St. Mary's Church coordinated with the Monterey Food Bank to distribute free boxes of fresh produce, dairy, and non-perishables to households. This takes place every Wednesday at the same time as our meal distribution at the same three locations. Please drive up or bring a cart / wagon to carry out the items.

On-Campus Meal Service & Distribution for Extended Day / Hybrid

We will prepare and serve free lunch to Elementary students participating in the Extended Day Program who will have a lunch period on campus. If your student chooses to opt-in for lunch, please ensure they let their teacher know when the teacher takes meal counts in the mornng. Take-home breakfast will also be provided for students to have for the following morning. Elementary students who do not have a lunch period on campus will be offered a free take-home breakfast & lunch at their dismissal.
We will prepare and distribute take-home meals to Secondary school students at the time of their dismissal Tuesday - Friday. Please utilize Curbside Meal Distribution on Mondays.


P-EBT cards are to be distributed by CDSS beginning in mid-March 2021 through mid-June 2021 to cover October and subsequent months. Please make sure your mailing address is up to date on Illuminate.
      • If your child receives CalFresh or MediCAL benefits, you will receive your P-EBT cards automatically.
      • If your household may qualify within the household income threshold, please submit a "Alternative Household Income" form (found below) to the Food Service department, attn: Nutrition Director, Stephanie Lip.
